With superior clinical efficacy

An open ,randomized study comparing the efficacy of azithromycin ( 500 mg once daily for 3 days ) with amoxicillin /clavulanate ( 625 mg every 8 hours for 10 days) in one hundred adult patients with acute sinusitis . clinical diagnosis was confirmed by nasal endoscopy , sinus radiography , and ( when possible) by culture of sinus aspirate.

A study comparing the efficacy and safety of azithromycin ( 3-days regimen ) with amoxicillin /clavulanic acid [ co-amoxiclav] (10-day regimen ) in 144 patients ; 123 had a type 1 acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis (AECB) , 3 patients had pneumonia , and 18 had purulent bronchitis .
